Dish Adds Six-Channel Mosaic
By MCN Staff
published Dish Network has incorporated a six-video-window mosaic function into its Dish Home channel, a feature developed with OpenTV Corp. that was used for Summer Olympics and presidential-election coverage in 2004.
Dish customers with OpenTV-enabled receivers can populate six windows on the TV screen, with networks including Cable News Network, MSNBC, The Weather Channel, E! Entertainment, Bloomberg and Court TV, by punching up channel 100. When a viewer selects a particular window, full-screen video and audio pops up.
The EchoStar Communications Corp.-owned service says it offers more than 20 interactive channels to more than 10 million subscribers.
