EchoStar Communications Corp. has launched interactive-TV horse-racing channel TVG Network.
The channel allows viewers to access news and information on horse racing, as well as to participate in pari-mutuel wagering on races in some markets.
EchoStar’s Dish Network direct-broadcast satellite service said its 10 million subscribers will be able to access the channel by the end of March.
Viewers will be able to access racing news, live odds, probable payoffs, picks and handicapping information, race conditions and race results. TVG offers wagering for the Kentucky Derby, Belmont Stakes and Breeder's Cup.
Dish viewers in 12 states -- California, Idaho, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, North Dakota, Ohio, Oregon, Washington and Wyoming -- will be able to wager through TVG.
