Disney Channel Renews Two
Disney Channel announced the renewal of two freshman original animation
series Tuesday, Stanley and TheProud Family.
Stanley, which airs during the network's 'Playhouse Disney' preschool
programming block, has received a commitment for 26 additional new installments,
while tween-targeted, African-American-family-based Proud Family will add
22 new episodes, Disney Channel representatives said.
'Kids are responding enthusiastically to Stanley, and we're especially
pleased to count The Proud Family among our recent triumphs, as it has
attracted additional and more diverse viewers to our burgeoning `Zoog Disney'
programming block,' general manager and executive vice president of programming
and production Rich Ross said in a prepared statement.
