Disney Channel Tops Weekly Ratings Charts
Disney Channel remained hot last week, winning its third consecutive weekly primetime ratings race.
The tween-targeted network averaged 2.8 million total viewers for the week of June 25-July 1, besting USA Network's 2.7 million viewers for top honors. History Channel finished third with 2.3 million viewers, followed by TNT (2.2 million watchers), Fox News (1.77 million) and TBS (1.75 million), according to a Disney-ABC Television Group analysis of Nielsen data.
BET rode the strength of its BET Awards 12 telecast to move into the top ten at number seven with 1.6 million viewers, followed by A&E (1.6 million), Fx (1.5 million and ESPN (1.3 million).
Disney Channel also made it four straight weekly ratings wins in total day viewing, with its average of 2 million viewers besting Nickelodeon (1.7 million viewers), Cartoon Network (1.3 million), Adult Swim (1.3 million) and USA Network (1.2 million).
BET was the most watched network among adults 18-34 last week, while USA was the top choice among adults 18-49 and 25-54, according to Nielsen.
