Disney
Online and FamilyFun Magazine launched the FamilyFun.com Web site Monday with a
Valentine's Day-themed 'Online Family Connections' contest, in which site
visitors can submit their best stories on how they've used the Internet to
become better connected with family members or 'reconnected with long-lost loved
ones.'
Submissions will be accepted through March 17, with finalists announced on
the site April 1, when consumers will be invited to choose their favorite
entry.
The winner, to be announced April 30, will get a family vacation to
Disneyland in Anaheim, Calif., while four runners-up will get Compaq Computer
Corp. 'iPaq Pocket PCs.'
In addition, all entrants will be given free extended-trial subscriptions to
Disney's Blast,
a kids' online-subscription service offering 100 games and activities featuring
The Walt Disney Co. characters.
FamilyFun is published by Disney's Buena Vista Magazines Inc.
The family-oriented Disney Online site will be offering ideas for Valentine's
Day cards, gifts and recipes, FamilyFun editorial director Alexandra
Kennedy said.
There will also be content developed by Family.com, Disney Online's
predecessor service designed for parents.
