E! Lines Up Best Red Carpet Ratings With Grammys
CBS, Beyonce and Taylor Swift weren't the only big winners at the Grammy Awards last night: E!'s red carpet coverage was its best-ever with the music industry event.
E!'s Live from the Red Carpet: The 2010 Grammy Awards averaged 2.5 million viewers from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., the network's best with the event, according to channel officials. Moreover, the performance represented a 63% increase from the 2009 equivalent.
The Jan. 31 telecast also posted a 49% advance among households (1.89), 48% among the network's target audience of adults 18 to 49 (1.40 rating) and 45% among persons 18 to 34 (1.46).
Leading into Live from the Red Carpet, E!'s one-hour Countdown to the Red Carpet: The 2010 Grammy Awards at 5 p.m. delivered its highest-rated (0.8 household rating) and most-watched Grammy show yet with 1 million viewers. Those numbers represented respective gains of 33% and 60% from the 2009 show.
