ESPN, ABC Announce NASCAR On-Air Team
ESPN and ABC announced their on-air team for the two networks’ coverage of the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing in 2007.
The host will be sportscasting veteran Brent Musburger. Rusty Wallace, the 1989 NASCAR champion, will be an analyst. Play-by-play will be handled by veteran Jerry Punch. Former team owner and crew chief Andy Petree will come on board as an analyst. And the pit reporters will be Allen Bestwick, Dave Burns, Jamie Little and Mike Massaro.
ESPN also announced that 1999 NASCAR champion Dale Jarrettwill join Punch and Petree in the booth for select NASCAR Busch Series races on ESPN2 and ABC.
ESPN and ABC will air the final 17 NASCAR Nextel Cup races, including the 10-race Chase for the NASCAR Nextel Cup championship on ABC, and ESPN2 will be the home of the NASCAR Busch Series all season.
