ESPN Deportes Wednesday named the anchors for its original Spanish-language version of SportsCenter, ESPN Deportes SportsCenter, set to debut when the network launches Jan. 7.
Michele LaFountain, Heriberto Murrieta, Fernando Palomo and Jorge Eduardo Sanchez Perez will present live 30-minute editions of SportsCenter at 11 p.m. and 2 a.m. EST Monday-Saturday, with a one-hour live program Sundays at 11 p.m. EST.
LaFountain was the sports anchor for nightly newscast Noticiero 47 and host of weekly sports-news show Deportes 47 on Telemundo in New York.
Murrieta is one of the most widely known sports broadcasters in Mexico.
Palomo has been an anchor for SportsCenter Latin America since 2000.
And Sanchez has been a commentator and play-by-play announcer for ESPN Dos in Mexico.
