Evolution Digital Launches eMerge App-Based UI for Operators
Evolution Digital is debuting its newest customizable app-based video user interface software for pay TV operators, eMerge.
Launching a year after Evolution’s similarly focused eVue-Now!, which is now being phased out, eMerge is designed to deliver the vendor’s eVue-TV pay-TV platform, along with various OTT services, on devices including Evolution Digital's 4K-capable, Android TV-powered eStream set-top. (eVUE-TV offers pay-TV operators’ full line-ups of IP video content, with advanced features and functionalities like network DVR recording, catch-up and start-over viewing.)
eMerge can also run on streaming players including Roku and Apple TV, as well as iOS and Android mobile devices.
The fully integrated software client offers operator-customizable menu categories, campaigns and featured programs.
The software, which is priced on a pay as you go model, also provides deep linking and universal search across content.

“eMerge is designed to empower operators to add creativity and innovation to the look and feel of their customers’ viewing experience,” said Brent Smith, chief strategy officer, in a statement. “Most user interface options in the marketplace today limit the operator’s ability to tailor the user experience to meet the specific needs of its subscribers. Evolution Digital’s eMERGE breaks this paradigm by enabling dynamic UI changes to incorporate new and compelling content from multiple sources, which is critical in the ever-changing world of video.”
