Execs Hired at Fuse, Discovery International
Fuse, the music television service, has hired Allan Infield as senior vice president of ad sales, and former Fuse general manager Catherine Mullen has signed on at Discovery Networks International as SVP of strategy and digital media.
Infield will oversee day-to-day ad-sales operation at Cablevision Systems-owned Fuse. He had been VP of sales at MTVN, in Nickelodeon’s Kids and Family Digital Advertising Sales Group. He worked with all of MTVN networks including MTV, VH1, Nick@Nite, and TV Land, including sales for digital and wireless properties, Fuse said.
He reports to Eric Sherman, the Fuse president who’s also a former MTVN executive.
Mullen comes to Discovery Networks International from Dailymotion.com, where, as managing director of content and international, she was responsible for new media content strategy as well as the launch of the French-based start-up’s video sharing Web sites internationally, focusing on U.S., U.K. and German markets, according to Discovery.
Before her tenure at Fuse in 2006, she held several executive roles with MTV Networks International, including as G.M. of MTV U.K. and Ireland and as VP of international strategy and business development. She now reports to DNI COO Sahar Elhabashi.
Reporting to Mullen at DNI will be another new hire, Alden Mitchell, as VP of strategy. Mitchell, too, was at MTV Networks, most recently as VP of digital partner relations and earlier as VP of affiliate sales strategy and business development.
