Courtroom Television Network's Sept. 12 episode of popular series Forensic
Files set an all-time ratings record for the crime-oriented network.
The series episode, 'A Bitter Pill to Swallow' -- about a pregnant woman
who's poisoned by her fiancée -- generated a 1.8 household rating for the night,
attracting 1.7 million viewers.
The show also helped the network to tally an impressive 1.2 rating for the
evening.
'The record-setting ratings of the past few weeks indicate that Court TV's
[repurposing] experiment with NBC has been an unqualified success for both
networks,' Court TV CEO Henry Schleiff said in a prepared statement.
'As a result of NBC's viewers having the opportunity to sample Forensic
Files on broadcast television, we've been able to bring a new and larger
audience to this signature series at Court TV,' he added. 'We are also delighted
that we were able to prove to NBC that this series would generate excellent
ratings for them, as well.'
