Gay premium service here!, formerly here! TV, has named Nickelodeon veteran Karen Flischel as its general manager, officials said Monday.
Flischel will be based in New York and report to Andre Tow, here!’s president and chief operating officer. She will be responsible for the network’s overall brand strategy and management, including consumer and brand marketing, affiliate sales and affiliate marketing.
Flischel’s career includes a 20-year tenure at Nick. Prior to taking some time off, she had served as managing director of Nick’s international division, with responsibility for all of its businesses, including channel operations, program sales and licensing and merchandising.
Before being promoted to international managing director, Flischel was based in London as managing director of Nickelodeon Europe, where she was responsible for both the business and creative sides of the company’s growing interests across the continent.
Prior to that post, Flischel was chief executive of Nickelodeon Australia after relocating from New York, where she had been senior vice president of research and development worldwide for Nick and Nick at Nite.
