Foreman to Leave HBO Sports
Former heavyweight champion George Foreman will hang up his mike as a boxing commentator for Home Box Office to spend more time with his family.
Foreman spent 12 years as a color analyst for HBO Championship Boxing events alongside veteran commentators Larry Merchant and Jim Lampley.
"George Foreman is a special person. We've gotten to know him as a world championship prizefighter, commentator and friend. His contributions to HBO Sports have been enormous," HBO Sports president Ross Greenberg said in a prepared statement.
"While it appears that George's plans do not include working as a boxing commentator any longer, the door is always open for him to be involved with the HBO Sports family in any capacity he would like to pursue," Greenberg added.
