Fox Cable Taps Two Execs
Fox Cable Networks has hired Jamia Bigalow as vice president of affiliate marketing and Eric Schmidt as manager of advanced services, officials said Tuesday.
Bigalow will be responsible for creating strategic marketing and promotional campaigns using Fox Cable’s 26 networks. She will report to Todd Schoen, Fox Cable’s senior vice president of affiliate marketing and affiliate ad sales.
Before joining Fox Cable, Bigalow served as director of affiliate marketing for the NFL Network. She came to the NFL from the ABC Cable Networks Group, where she served as director of affiliate marketing for Fox Family Channel, now ABC Family. She first worked with Schoen there.
Schmidt will report to Staci Weiss, Fox Cable’s director of affiliate sales. He will work closely with Weiss to develop advanced-service offerings such as HDTV, video on demand, DVR-based applications, and broadband and interactive applications.
He joins Fox Cable from Columbia University Business School in New York, where he recently earned his MBA. Prior to business school, Schmidt worked for Major League Baseball Advanced Media, creating digital subscriptions for the league within the new-media arena. He is also a veteran of ESPN Internet Ventures.
