Fox News Remains Hot on Weekly Cable Ratings Charts
Fox News continues to cruise through the summer on the weekly cable ratings charts, finishing as the most watched cable network in primetime and on a 24-hour basis for the first week in July.
The network, which finished as the most watched cable network in June, averaged 2 million viewers in primetime during the week of July 1 to July 7, topping all cable networks for the seventh consecutive week with an average of 2 million viewers, according to Nielsen.
Finishing a distant second was MSNBC and HGTV, which were tied with 1.1 million viewers, followed by USA Network with 1 million viewers.
Rounding out the top 10 most watched networks in primetime for the week were TLC (996,000 viewers), History (893,000), Hallmark Channel (860,000), Investigation Discovery (845,000), INSP (776,000) and TBS (769,000).
Fox News topped the total day chart for the 26th consecutive week, besting Nickelodeon, MSNBC, HGTV and Investigation Discovery, according to Nielsen.
