Fox News Rolls To Fourth Straight Weekly Ratings Win
Fox News remained hot through the July 4 holiday weekend, securing its fourth straight weekly cable primetime ratings crown.
The network averaged 2.1 million primetime viewers during the week of June 27 through July 3 to top all cable networks, according to Nielsen. Discovery and HGTV finished a distant second with 1.5 million viewers.
USA Network’s 1.4 million-viewer average was good for fourth place followed by a tie between sister networks TBS and TNT, both averaging 1.2 million viewers. Disney Channel (1.1 million viewers), History (1 million), Adult Swim (963,000) and Food Network (918,000) rounded out the top 10, said Nielsen.
Fox News and Nickelodeon battled to a first place tie in total day ratings with an average of 1.2 million viewers, followed by Cartoon Network, Adult Swim and Disney Channel.
Discovery Channel’s annual “Shark Week” programming lineup helped the network finish as the most watched network in primetime among adults 18-49, while Adult Swim was the top choice among the demo on a 24-hour basis.
