Fox News Takes Weekly Ratings Crown
Fox News Channel was the most watched network in primetime during 2016’s first full week, according to Nielsen.
Fox News averaged 1.9 million viewers to top all cable networks during the week of Jan. 4 to Jan. 10, said Nielsen officials. Discovery Channel finished second for the week with 1.8 million viewers, followed by a third place tie between TBS, USA Network and HGTV, all averaging 1.6 million viewers.
Disney Channel (1.4 million viewers), ESPN (1.3 million), History (1.2 million), and Investigation Discovery, Food Network and FX (all tied with 1 million viewers) rounded out the top 10.
Fox News and Nickelodeon tied atop the total day list, with both networks averaging 1.2 million viewers, according to Nielsen. Disney Channel, Adult Swim and USA Network finished close behind.
