Fox News Tops February Ratings Charts



Fox News has won February’s monthly cable ratings race in both primetime and on a total day basis, according to Nielsen. 

In primetime Fox News averaged 2.7 million viewers during the period of Jan. 29 to Feb. 25 to best all cable networks, according to Nielsen. MSNBC was second with 1.8 million viewers, followed by USA Network, TNT and HGTV, which tied with 1.3 million viewers each. Fox News dethroned ESPN, which was the most watched cable network last month in primetime.

On a 24-hour basis, Fox News averaged 1.5 million viewers for the month, topping MSNBC, Nickelodeon, HGTV, Investigation Discovery and NBC Sports Network, according to Nielsen. The network has now won cable's total day race for 20 consecutive months, according to Nielsen.  

Fox News was also the dominant player in the cable news network ratings arena, topping MSNBC and CNN among total viewers and the key adult 25-54 demo both in primetime and on a total day basis, according to Nielsen.
