Fox News Tops Weekly Cable Rankings
With no NBA playoffs games to contend with, Fox News finished atop the weekly cable primetime ratings heap, according to Nielsen.
Fox News averaged 2.1 million viewers, topping HGTV’s 1.5 million watchers to finish first among all cable networks during the week of June 6 to June 12, said Nielsen. Fox knocked TNT, which in recent weeks had benefited from its live coverage of the NBA Playoffs, out of the top spot on the charts.
USA Network finished third for the week with 1.3 million viewers, followed by a tie for fourth between TNT, Disney Channel, Discovery and TBS – all averaging 1.2 million viewers.
Rounding out the top 10 were MSNBC, History and CNN, tied with an average of 1.1 million viewers.
Fox News was also the most watched network on a 24-hour basis, followed closely by Nickelodeon, Adult Swim, Disney Channel and Cartoon Network.
USA Network was the top choice among adults 18-49 while women 18-34 tuned into Adult Swim more than any other network during the week.
