Freeform to Air Premiere Episode of Hulu’s ‘Runaways’
Freeform will air the first episode of streaming service Hulu’s original drama series Marvel’s Runaways following Thursday’s finale of the network’s Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger, Freeform officials said Wednesday.
The arrangement – part of an ongoing marketing deal between the cable network and the streaming service – will provide non-Hulu subscribers with a look at Runaways, which follows a group of teens as they investigate what their parents have been hiding for so long.
Hulu in January renewed Runaways for a second season.
Cloak & Dagger, which stars Olivia Holt and Aubrey Joseph as teenagers from different backgrounds who find themselves mysteriously linked to one another, has also been renewed for a second season.
“Hulu has been an excellent partner for Freeform as they often focus on the same young adult audience we reach,” said Tricia Melton, senior vice president of marketing at Freeform in a statement. “Having the opportunity to come together and focus on our Marvel properties was a perfect scenario as we continue reaching our viewers in innovative and unexpected ways.”
