FX Taps Ryan Murphy for New Anthology Series
Fresh off its hit American Crime Series: The People v. O.J. Simpson, FX will once again team with producer Ryan Murphy to create a new anthology franchise, Feud.
The eight-part anthology series will focus on epic conflicts, with the first installment of the series focusing on the clash between actresses Joan Crawford and Bette Davis, the network said. Susan Sarandon will play Davis and Jessica Lange will portray Crawford in the series, which will debut in Fall 2017 on the network, said FX.
Murphy, who also produces FX’s Emmy-winning anthology series American Horror Story, will serve as executive producer for Feud along with Plan B Entertainment’s Brad Pitt and Dede Gardner.
Also starring in Feud are Alfred Molina, Stanley Tucci, Judy Davis and Dominic Burgess.
“Ryan keeps re-inventing TV,” said FX Networks CEO John Landgraf. “American Horror Story pioneered the modern anthological series, which has rapidly transformed the television landscape and been widely copied. The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story was recognized by many as the best and most talked about new show this year. The series will offer a seductive, insightful look at what lies behind legendary personality conflicts.”
