Golden Globes: ‘The Crown’ Wins Best Drama
Freshman Netflix series The Crown was the surprise winner of The Golden Globes award for best drama.
The series, which follows the early reign of Queen Elizabeth II, beat out drama series heavyweights Game of Thrones and Westworld (HBO), Netflix’s Stranger Things and NBC’s This Is Us.
Claire Foy also won the statuette for best actress in a drama for her portrayal of Queen Elizabeth II, besting Caitriona Balfe (Outlander), Keri Russell (The Americans), Winona Ryder (Stranger Things), and Evan Rachel Wood (Westworld).
