Even GSN is getting into the royal wedding act, joining cable networks' parade of shows with a "Royal Week" of Newlywed Game episodes.
The special themed week will be a highlight of the show's new season, its second season with host Sherri Shepherd, who is herself engaged to be married this summer to Lamar Sally. Season 5 of The Newlywed Game premieres on Monday, April 18, at 6:30 p.m. ET/PT; "Royal Week" premieres Monday, April 25, at 6:30 p.m. ET/PT.
Episode themes include "Castle Weddings" on Monday, "Queens Couples" about couples in Queens, N.Y., on Wednesday and "Couples Named William and Kate" on Friday.
Great Britain's Prince William and Kate Middletown are tying the knot on April 29, an event that will be well chronicled by a variety of networks.
BBC America, which will air live coverage from the BBC starting at 6 a.m. ET on the big day, is also airing feature and documentary programming leading up to the event. Matt Frei, anchor of BBC World News America, blogged about U.S. interest in the British royal family and in William and Kate in particular. BBC.com also will stream the wedding live.
News channels, including Fox News, have announced wedding coverage, and CNN has scheduled a royal wedding documentary, hosted by Soledad O'Brien, for Sunday, April 24.

TV Guide Network plans the exclusive U.S. premiere of Britain's Channel 4 original special Meet the Middletons on Saturday, April 23, at 7 p.m. PT/ET. The network also said Kathy Griffin will be joined by guests including British author Jackie Collins for a post-wedding special, Kathy Griffin's Insightful and Hilarious Take on the Royal Wedding, premiering Friday, April 29, at 8 p.m. PT/ET.
The Middletons special chronicles the life of soon-to-be princess Kate Middleton by speaking with relatives from her past and gaining access to exclusive archives and photographs. It traces her rise from the small town where she grew up to her spot at the pinnacle of society.
On Friday, April 29, TLC will culminate a week-long event of royal wedding programming with a live production event and viewing party from Times Square. TLC will take over the Father Duffy Square area of Times Square and broadcast a pre-show and coverage of the wedding on two of the most dynamic digital billboards in Times Square.
Starting first thing in the morning, guests will join TLC talent and celebrity contributors to celebrate the big day, as they watch the wedding live on jumbotrons and take part in various on-site activities including a Say Yes To The Dress fashion show and the on-site weddings of three lucky couples. TLC talent will be reporting for the network as well, including Clinton Kelly and Monte Durham -- who alongside Amanda Byram will be reporting live from London -- and Randy Fenoli, who will be hosting the network's on-air coverage from Times Square.
