The standard-definition version of Hallmark Movie Channel is joining Verizon's FiOS TV.
The deal, terms of which were not disclosed, secures positioning for Hallmark Movie Channel across the telco's TV footprint, according to the parties.
Verizon currently carries both Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movie Channel in high-definition. The launch completes Verizon FiOS TV's family-friendly suite of offerings from the Hallmark brand.
"The response from our distribution partners over the past year to launch Hallmark Movie Channel has been overwhelming," said Janice Arouh, executive vice president, network distribution and service, Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movie Channel, in a statement. "The channel - available in both standard- and high-definition - is distinctive because it offers a quality viewing experience for the whole family, classic theatrical films, 'Hallmark Hall of Fame' presentations and the best of Hallmark Channel original movies."
