Harmonic Adds Forward Error Correction

Harmonic added forward-error-correction support to its ProStream 1000 stream-processing platform.

The vendor said its FEC engine for Internet-protocol-based networks “supports state-of-the-art ProMPEG FEC COP3 transmission and reception of up to 128 services in a one rack-unit platform, minimizing problems such as packet drops and reordering.”
