Harmonic debuted a software solution that expedites the production of high-quality, low-bit-rate standard-definition and HD video and audio for applications such as dynamic ad insertion, video-on-demand, network digital-video recorders and time-shifted TV.
The vendor said its “CLEARcut 3.1” can be used in conjunction with its “DiviCom” encoders “to dramatically reduce bit rates while preserving a broadcast-quality picture, maximizing the effective service-carrying capacity of the broadcast and on-demand network.”
