HBO Latino Enters the Ring

Home Box Office Sports will extend its boxing franchise next year when, in
conjunction with Oscar De La Hoya, it rings the bell on a new monthly fight
series for its Hispanic multiplex.

Oscar De La Hoya Presenta Boxeo de Oro will bow on HBO Latino in January
and serve as a showcase for a stable of up-and-coming fighters signed by the
boxer's Golden Boy Promotions LLC.

A dedicated production team and set of announcers will be hired for the HBO
Latino series, which will be produced by HBO Sports.

'This is the first dedicated original program created for HBO Latino,' HBO
vice president of brand development and online marketing Bernadette Aulestia
said in a prepared statement.

'It's an exciting addition to our Spanish-programming lineup and a major step
in fulfilling our promise to continually enhance the value of the service to our
ever-growing audience of Hispanic viewers nationwide,' she added.

Super welterweight/junior middleweight champion De La Hoya reaffirmed his
status as the sport's 'Golden Boy' with a knockout over rival Fernando Vargas
Sept. 14. The bout attracted some 900,000 buys for HBO Pay-Per-View -- the
second most for a nonheavyweight match -- and generated some $45 million in PPV
revenue.
