HBO: That's Myman
Bolstering its production team, HBO Independent Productions has named
television-industry veteran Harvey Myman vice president of creative affairs.
Reporting to Russell Schwartz, HIP executive VP of creative affairs, business
and planning, Myman will be involved in all aspects of the unit's development
and production of new network series, including projects for ABC Television
Network.
This summer, Home Box Office and ABC announced a two-year distribution and
production agreement under which the premium network's production arm will
create original series for over-the-air distribution on ABC.
Prior to joining HBO, Myman was senior VP of comedy development for Columbia
TriStar Television. He joined that company after executive-producing The Gene
Pool, a CTTV pilot for The WB Television Network.
Before that, he spent seven years with Carsey-Werner-Mandabach as a creative
executive and consultant on such shows as Third Rock from the Sun and
Grace Under Fire. He then served as executive producer on God, the
Devil and Bob and Men Behaving Badly for NBC and Townies for
ABC.
