HDNet will debut the Zippo Hot Tour Concert Series Sunday, March 6 at 10 p.m. (EST).
The nine-part series chronicles the “2004 Zippo Hot Tour,” featuring interviews and performances from unsigned rock bands from eight cities competing for a showcase with Island Records.
Zippo Manufacturing Co., the tour’s sponsor, is best known for its windproof lighters.
Each week, the high-definition service and host Katie Daryl travel to the eight cities on the tour -- Austin, Texas; Denver; Minneapolis; Pittsburgh; West Palm Beach, Fla.; Raleigh, N.C.; Detroit; and San Diego -- to meet the bands in the competition.
HDNet will feature the winner's showcase in the final episode.
