HITN-TV Launches on Verizon FiOS
Verizon is rolling out the Hispanic Information Telecommunications Network, offering it in all its FiOS TV markets, officials said Monday.
HITN-TV is a Spanish-language network that offers educational and cultural programming, reaching more than 22 million households.
“HITN provides one of the fastest growing demographic groups in the U.S. with exceptional educational and cultural programming,” Terry Denson, vice president of FiOS TV content and programming, said in a prepared statement. “It is a meaningful addition to our expanding lineup of Spanish-language programming.”
HITN’s programming lineup includes: original production and 2006 Beacon Award Winner for Outstanding Community Program Diálogo de Costa a Costa, a daily live program that provides a forum for Latinos to call in and provide their opinions and ask questions on key issues affecting their families and communities; Easy ESL, a series of classes to teach Spanish speakers English language skills; GED en Español, a series that prepares viewers to obtain their high school diploma;
and Ponte en Forma,
a fitness program series that combines workouts and valuable nutritional tips for a healthier life.
“HITN is happy to bring our educational programming to all of the markets that Verizon serves,” Jose Luis Rodriguez, HITN-TV founder and president, said in a prepared statement. “We are proud to provide programming that is relevant to Hispanics. Having presence throughout Verizon FiOS TV’s service territory will ensure that Hispanics will have access to the valuable and entertaining content that is focused on helping them improve their life.”
