HITN-TV Unveils New Programming Slate
Spanish-language educational television network HITN-TV has added five new programs to its lineup. Among the additions: the popular Antena 3 historical drama Hispania, La Leyenda, which ran in Spain from October 2010 to June 2012.
The Bambú Producciones series features Spanish actor Roberto Enriquez in the lead role as “Viriato,” a pastor who finds himself at odds with the Romans after the kidnapping of his daughter. Also starring in the production as companion “Sandro” is former Spanish boxing champion Hovik Keuchkerian.
In Spain, Antena 3 saw healthy ratings from the nine-episode first season of Hispania, averaging a 22.9 share of the viewing audience.
The other additions to the HITN-TV lineup include the Mundo al Natural-themed series “Wild Australasia” and “Wild Africa;” Espacio Ciencia science-based programming under the “Wonders of the Universe” banner; and the BBC documentary series Simon Schama's Power of Art, offered to viewers in Spanish. The latter series each week examines the biography of an artist and his key work through Schama's considerations of that work and selected re-enactments.
HITN-TV will also add a health magazine focused on prevention and treatment, titled A Tu Salud! It features recent advances in medicine. Interviews with health experts and doctors.
The new shows are airing at various times around the clock on HITN-TV; the programs debuted on the channel in mid-November.

HITN-TV was established in 1983 as a non-commercial Spanish-language educational programming network targeting U.S. Hispanics. It is carried by DirecTV, Dish Network, AT&T U-verse, Verizon FiOS TV, and in select Time Warner Cable, Comcast, Cablevision Systems, Mediacom Communications, Frontier Communications and Charter Communications markets.
