ICTV Debuts `HeadendWare'
By MCN Staff
published ICTV Inc. is launching its 'HeadendWare' software systems for thin-client
digital set-top boxes.
CEO Wes Hoffman said he's spent the past five months talking with developers
about thin-client applications, including gaming and interactive TV. Placing
software at the headend makes it easier to download new software updates and to
use the capabilities inherent in headend gear, he added.
Hoffman said he's working on integration with Gemstar-TV Guide International
Inc. and WorldGate Communications Inc., as well as Motorola Inc.'s Acadia
labs.
He added that the middleware will cost about $10 per box.
