ICTV Inc. successfully integrated Gemstar-TV Guide International Inc.'s interactive program guide for digital cable with its “HeadendWare” interactive-TV platform.
In addition, the ICTV-Gemstar combination was validated by Motorola Inc.’s Acadia Application Integration Center following successful testing on that vendor’s “DCT-2000” set-tops.
“Because Gemstar-TV Guide offers a widely deployed program guide on Motorola DCT-2000 set-top boxes, we can work with them to offer MSOs the ability to deploy true broadband-interactive services without the delays and constraints of in-box, carousel-based solutions,” ICTV vice president of marketing and business development Jonathan Symonds said in a prepared statement.
Todd Walker, general manager of advanced TV for Gemstar-TV Guide’s TV Guide Television Group, added, “The versatility of ICTV's HeadendWare platform in delivering compelling interactive content enables us to provide our customers with a unique solution that supports their needs for dynamic full-motion video and quality audio.”
