IFC, Sundance Create Custom Vignettes For Luxury Hotel, The Cosmopolitan
IFC and Sundance Channel are teaming on a series of vignettes highlighting the new luxury hotel, The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.
Under the media and content partnership, terms of which were not disclosed, the parties have created six, two-minute vignettes under the "Inspired Experiences" banner, spotlighting the resort's distinctive and compelling features.
Moreover, IFC and Sundance will produce a pair of 60-second news pieces, showcasing footage of the hotel's New Year's Eve weekend events, including red carpet coverage of an exclusive dinner event created by premier party planner Colin Cowie and a concert with headliners Jay-Z and Coldplay.
The vignettes are currently airing on IFC and Sundance Channel and will run through the first quarter of 2011. The one-minute news clips, chronicling The Cosmopolitan's New Year's festivities, will air throughout January.
"This partnership is a great example of how IFC and Sundance Channel work with brands to create customized content that complements their overall media mix and delivers an upscale, influential audience," said Vanessa Benfield, senior vice president of sponsorship sales, IFC and Sundance Channel, in a statement. "The Cosmopolitan's independent sensibility makes our networks perfect partners to showcase the hotel and the personalities associated with it."
The following are the networks' synopses of the "Inspired Experiences" vignettes:
"Create"
One of The Cosmopolitan's most unexpected exhibitions is found in the parking garage. The project, Wallworks, features installations by street artists Shepard Fairey (represented on-camera by Dan Flores of Obey Giant), Retna, Kenny Scharf and Shinique Smith.
"Details"
Here, Lisa Marchese, senior vice president of brand marketing for The Cosmopolitan and interior architect, David Rockwell, explore the hotel's unique and inspired design and curation. They reveal a singular guest experience that begins with an innovative column of digital art in the hotel lobby and continues through the details of all the hotel's spaces, including its multi-level crystal chandelier.
"Nourish"
Saying The Cosmopolitan is at home all over the world is doubly true when it comes to food, yet bringing together a world of authentic flavors is just the start.
"Reveal"
This vignette explores The Cosmopolitan's collision of art and technology, showcasing its innovative and immersive digital columns that greet resort guests upon their entry into the hotel. Anthony Vitagliano, executive creative director at Digital Kitchen, explains the marriage of artistic vision and technical expertise that led to the innovative and absorbing creation.
"Stay"
From the moment The Cosmopolitan guests step into the lobby, they are transported to a modern sophistication that is an oasis in a sea of themed mediocrity. Interior architect, David Rockwell, tells the tale of urban sophistication, modern comfort, terrace views and hidden surprises thus far unknown on the Las Vegas Strip.
"Taste"
Born in New Jersey, educated at the table of their foodie family and trained at Le Cordon Bleu, brothers Bruce and Eric Bromberg and their Blue Ribbon Sushi Bar & Grill are the perfect embodiment of what makes The Cosmopolitan bold, unexpected and world-wise. Like the hotel, their foods are a surprising yet convincing mix of comfort and innovation, simplicity and sophistication.
