Integra5
said it will unveil "UniTV," a keyboard-free, voice-based Internet messaging application for interactive television, at next week's Western Show in Los Angeles.
Integra5 said the technology, which ports to "all existing" set-top boxes and operating systems and does not require additional customer-premises equipment, also supports the use of sound, graphics and electronic-mail attachments. The company said cable operators or other broadband providers would be required to install the UniTV gateway at their headend or central office.
