'Jersey Shore' Shores Up MTV Ratings Among 12-34 Demo

MTV's controversial reality series Jersey Shore continues to build.
The Jan. 7 telecast averaged 3.2 million viewers and scored a 3.2 rating among the network's broad demo of persons 12 to 34, according to live+ same-day Nielsen data.
The installment ranked 68% above its 1.9 season-t0-date average, said network officials.
The Jan. 7 episode was cable's top telecast against the aforementioned demo, and trailed only ABC's coverage of teh BCS national championship game with that group in all of television.
