Kaitz Foundation Lines Up Trio Of Business Events At Cable Show
The Walter Kaitz Foundation has three key programs on tap during the upcoming Cable Show in Los Angeles.
Cable's diversity advocate has a trio of programs aimed at helping minority-owned businesses and people of color navigate the ins and outs of the cable and entertainment industries from May 11 through 13.
The newly created "The Hollywood Creative Forum: Cable Day" incorporates a full day of sessions and "meet and greets" with cable executives focused on programming and creative content on May 11. This inaugural program features sessions designed to advance the skills and knowledge base of emerging content creators through self-promotion, the utilization of cable as a creative vehicle for developing production expertise, and honing skills to pitch content. This event is open to writers, directors and producers in both fiction and non-fiction programming genres from select programs, including: the NATPE Diversity Fellowship Program; the NAMIC Writers' Workshop; and current participants in select network diversity programs.
Kaitz, for the second year, is also presenting "Cable Cares About Diversity," a one-day master class on May 12 designed to bring a diverse group of "Millennials," together with executives in the cable industry. During the day, students will be introduced to the industry, exposed to business trends and opportunities, and educated to interpret trends that will shape essential business strategies in the decade ahead.
On May 13, the 11th Annual Supplier Diversity Connection Workshop will feature a new format. The event, geared toward women and minority business enterprises, procurement officers and other commodity professionals, will launch its new Supplier Spotlight where WMBEs are offered the opportunity to demonstrate their products and services directly to buyers from cable companies seeking to improve diversity within their company's supply chain. The workshop is part of the Foundation's National Supplier Diversity Initiative which provides a direct connection between the cable industry and WMBEs.
