Kent, Lowe to Co-Chair Kaitz Dinner in NYC
Suddenlink CEO Jerry Kent and Scripps Networks Interactive CEO Kenneth Lowe will co-chair the Walter Kaitz Foundation Fundraising Dinner in New York on Sept. 15.
The dinner, to support three cable industry diversity organizations, returns to New York as the centerpiece of Diversity Week after being held in Denver last fall as part of the Cable Connections concept. The dinner's theme is "Single Minded. Many Sided."
Kent, who is also chairman of cable operator Suddenlink, and Lowe (pictured, r.), who is also chairman and president of SNI, will be joined on the Dinner Committee by: Matthew C. Blank, chairman & CEO, Showtime Networks Inc.; Richard Sjoberg, president & CEO, Sjoberg's Inc.; Mark Niblick, chairman, Midcontinent Communications; and Tony Vinciquerra, chairman & CEO, Fox Networks Group.
"We are pleased the Walter Kaitz dinner will once again be part of Diversity Week in New York," David Porter, executive director of the Walter Kaitz Foundation, said. "With the guidance of our dinner committee, I'm certain this year's dinner will be a special celebration of diversity, and raise funds to further the careers of women and people of color."
The annual dinner typically raises more than $1 million to fund diversity-oriented programs and initiatives for: the Emma L. Bowen Foundation; the National Association for Multi-ethnicity in Communications (NAMIC) and Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT).
NAMIC's annual conference and WICT's leadership conference will be among the other events during the return on Diversity Week in New York.
In coming weeks, the Kaitz Foundation will also name the Diversity Champion and Diversity Advocate to be honored at the dinner.
Ticket sales for the dinner are now under way.
