Nickelodeon slimed the ratings Saturday with its 20th Annual Kids’ Choice Awards.
The event, hosted by Justin Timberlake from UCLA’s Pauley Pavilion, was the awards show most-watched ever among kids 2-11, kids 6-11, tweens 9-14 and total viewers.
On average, 6.1 million total viewers watched the show March 31 from 8 p.m.-9:30 p.m., a 3% increase over last year’s record performance, according to Nielsen Media Research data.
The show delivered a 14.0 rating among kids 6-11, an 11% improvement over the 2006 KCAs, translating into 2.8 million of those viewers. Among tweens 9-14, the event generated a 12.5 rating, up 12% from 2006, with 2.6 million of those viewers watching on average. With kids 2-11, the 2007 KCAs pulled a 10.3 rating and a record 3.4 million viewers.
In addition, network officials said more kids voted than ever this year, with a record of 40 million votes on Nick.com, Nicktropolis, TurboNick and Nick Mobile.
