David Crosby's two-part documentary on music and social activism, Stand and Be Counted, will debut on The Learning Channel in August. It traces the evolution of musical activism from the nonviolent protests for civil rights, to ex-Beatle George Harrison's pivotal 1971 "Concert for Bangladesh," to the recent stadium concerts for a free Tibet.
The program, which airs Aug. 22 and 23, features interviews with artists such as Crosby, Sting, Tracy Chapman, Elton John, Joan Baez and Jewel. The project is Crosby's brainchild, and he is one of its producers.
