Lifetime Leads Basic Cable, Again
Winter Olympics be damned.
Lifetime Television showed no ill effects from NBC's coverage of the Salt
Lake City Games, earning a solid 2.2 household rating to easily top basic cable
in primetime during the fourth week of February.
The women's targeted network held a 0.6-point lead in primetime over
Nickelodeon and TBS Superstation Feb. 18 through 24, according to a Turner
Entertainment Research analysis of Nielsen Media Research data.
Cartoon Network and Turner Network Television ranked fourth and fifth with
1.5 and 1.4 averages, respectively.
USA Network was sixth last week notching a 1.3, ahead of A&E Network,
Discovery Channel and Fox News Channel, all with a 1.0.
TNN: The National Network, ABC Family, The Learning Channel and MTV: Music
Television were next, knotted with 0.9 averages.
Bolstered by an installment of drama skein Strong Medicine and strong
performances by films Love,Lies & Murder Part II and Love,
Honor & Deceive, Lifetime also took adult-demo laurels among the
18-through-49 (an average of 953,000 viewers) and 25-through-54 (1.12 million)
sets last week.

TBS was first among adults 18 through 34, averaging 425,000 of those viewers
in primetime.
