National Geographic announced Monday that Lisa Ling, co-host of ABC's The View, was named host of National Geographic Explorer, which airs weekly on MSNBC.
Ling will assume her new role in the first quarter of 2003.
"Lisa Ling has reported from tough places all over the world, bringing real and valuable experience to Explorer, along with a new perspective on the world and the National Geographic mission," National Geographic Television and Film president Tim Kelly said in a release.
