Longtime Ill. Cable Association Chief Dies

Gary Maher, who helped to found the Cable Television and Communications
Association of Illinois and served it for 15 years, died Sunday at his home in
Oak Park, Ill.
He was 45 when he suffered a fatal heart attack.
Maher left the association in January to become vice president, external
affairs for Guinness/UDV North America. The cable trade group could not be reached for
comment.
A visitation is planned June 13 at the Dreschler, Brown and Williams funeral
home in Oak Park. A funeral mass will be held 10:30 a.m. June 14 at St. Giles
Catholic Church, 1045 N. Columbian Ave., Oak Park.
