Mag Rack, Rainbow Media Holdings Inc.'s video-on-demand service, will add
three new VOD magazines in July.
With the addition of 'Your Next Car,' 'Let's Go Garden' and 'Celebrating
Dogs,' Mag Rack will offer a total of 27 specialty on-demand video
magazines.
In addition to proffering the service to some of parent Cablevision Systems
Corp.'s systems equipped with the operator's iO: Interactive Optimum
digital-cable package, Mag Rack has signed a long-term agreement with Insight
Communications Co. Inc. to make it available to that MSO's VOD-enabled
subscribers beginning this summer.
'Mag Rack frequently launches new magazines in an effort to reach further
into audiences with programming not readily available on television,' Mag Rack
executive vice president and general manager Matthew Strauss said in a prepared
statement.
'With more than 40 million dog owners in the United States and one-half of
the population participating in vegetable or flower gardening, we are
effectively targeting enthusiasts' hobbies and personal interests, but with
exclusive VOD technology that greatly enhances their viewing experience,' he
added.
