Scott A. McGregor has joined Broadcom Corp. as president and CEO.
McGregor had held the same posts at the Philips Semiconductors division of Royal Philips Electronics.
He will succeed the chip-maker’s current president and CEO, Alan E. "Lanny" Ross, Jan. 3, when Ross will retire. Ross will remain on the company’s board of directors.
