Liberate Technologies.
John Walthall was named director of worldwide sales for the Microsoft TV
Division. He had been vice president of sales for the Americas at Liberate.
Microsoft said Walthall will have responsibility over Microsoft's thin-client
and media-center-device strategy.
Separately, Liberate said it's repurchasing 3.9 million shares of stock owned
by Cisco Systems Inc. The $9.96 million stock repurchase is not included in the
company's fiscal-year-2003 cash-burn forecast.
Liberate has 103.2 million shares outstanding.
