French-language entertainment channel TV5 Monde USA said it has a new distribution agreement with cable provider Mediacom Communications that will add the premium ($9.99 per month) service to lineups in Iowa and Mediacom markets in Illinois, Minnesota, Missouri, Georgia, Alabama and Florida starting this month.
In a release, TV5 Monde general manager Yves Bigot said: “We look forward to beginning our new partnership with Mediacom that will allow TV5 Monde USA to offer their subscribers a wonderful and varied line-up of French language entertainment across multiple programming genres.” And Italia Commisso Weinand, Mediacom’s EVP of programming and human resources, said in the release: “The launch of TV5 Monde USA and its French-themed programming adds another high-quality foreign language channel to the Mediacom’s lineup that further expands the needs of our multicultural footprint.”
