MegaPath Forges Deal with Cox Business
Broadband enterprise-service provider MegaPath Networks Inc. has pulled down a wholesale reseller deal with Cox Business Services to start providing business services using a cable connection in 18 major markets.
With that, Pleasanton, Calif.-based MegaPath will boost its footprint for services to small and midsized business clients from 44 to 62 markets.
MegaPath's product portfolio includes a mix of cable, digital-subscriber-line, T-1 and integrated-services-digital-network broadband circuits for smaller enterprise and large distributed companies with remote branches.
With the Cox Business deal, it will begin offering cable broadband connectivity starting at $84.95 monthly, including a static Internet-protocol address to support virtual-private-network links to link remote offices and telecommuting employees.
"Our agreement with MegaPath Networks will aid us in targeting and serving more large enterprise customers with multiple locations and a distributed work force," Cox Business vice president and general manager Chuck McElroy said.
"Given our marketing focus of services such as Cox VPN and Business Internet for businesses located within our Cox cable-franchise territories, this agreement will expand our reach to businesses with locations outside of our territories but with employees located in our service area," he added.
