Microsoft to Tout Tribune TV Listings
Tribune Media Services said it expanded a licensing deal with Microsoft Corp. that will see the software manufacturer incorporate TMS’ TV- and movie-listing databases into a range of entertainment-navigation products, including “Windows XP Media Center Edition,” MSN.com (www.msn.com) and MSN TV.
The deal is aimed at boosting awareness for Tribune’s TV-listings service.
In addition to supplying newspapers nationwide with TV-listings data, Tribune also distributes a passive, scrolling program guide to cable operators, and it supplies TV-listings data that are used in interactive program guides distributed by Time Warner Cable, Cablevision Systems Corp. and TiVo Inc.
