MLBN Record Ratings Mark with Nats-Giants
MLN Network finished its live-game action for the 2014 season on a record note.
Baseball's in-house service registered a 2.0 coverage rating and 1.8 million viewers for its exclusive presentation of Game 3 of the National League Division Series between the Washington Nationals and San Francisco Giants, according to Nielsen. The Oct. 7 telecast of the Nat's win, which began at 5 p.m. (ET), surpassed the network's previous game high-water mark: Saturday night's Game 2 of the St Louis-Los Angeles NLDS, which garnered a 1.7 rating and also registered 1.8 million watchers on average.
For its two postseason telecasts, MLBN saw its viewership jump 100% over its two LDS games in 2013.
Saturday’s game telecast also led to MLB Network’s best total-day viewership ever: an average of 384,000 viewers, up 42% from its prior record on March 10, 2013 during its coverage of the World Baseball Classic.
